What is Reiki?
Even though Reiki is thought to have originated in Tibet, the word 'Reiki' refers to a form of Japanese spiritual healing and means 'Universal Life Force Energy.' If someone’s life force energy is low, that person is more likely to get sick or feel stress; conversely, if their life force energy is high, they are more likely to be healthy and happy.
During a healing session, gentle Reiki energy is channeled through the practitioner and directed to the receiver either by the laying on of hands upon the individual or by channeling the energy to the receiver without touching the person. Reiki energy can even be sent over long distances for remote healing!
What Can Reiki Do?
Reiki:
- Reduces stress and anxiety and promotes inner peace and vitality
- Helps clear blockages and suppressed emotions and feelings
- Helps balance the body on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels

What Happens During a Reiki Treatment?
Reiki treats the whole person: emotions, spirit, body, and mind. It creates feelings of relaxation, peace and wellbeing. A Reiki treatment is done while you are fully clothed and usually lying on a massage table, although it can be done while you are seated or standing. The practitioner uses a series of hand positions on or near the client’s head, shoulders, stomach and feet. You may feel a warmth and tingling energy or a deep feeling of relaxation while you are being treated. Reiki will flow to wherever it is needed in your body because Reiki energy easily adapts to treat your current needs. A typical Reiki treatment lasts between 45 and 90 minutes and anyone can safely receive this gentle healing energy!
This natural spiritual healing method works along with any and all other conventional medical treatments and therapies to help relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki will improve the results of medical treatment, will act to shorten healing time, reduce or eliminate pain and stress, and create optimism. Although it is spiritual, it is not a religion and you don’t even have to believe in it for Reiki to work.
Children and animals can also benefit from receiving Reiki. The gentle energy promotes relaxation, confidence, and a sense of calm. It helps children improve concentration and achieve a more restful sleep while enhancing their self-esteem and self-awareness. For animals, Reiki can help them heal more quickly, experience less pain and improve the quality of their life. It helps to reduce any stress or fears they might be experiencing and is a wonderful way to make them feel safe. Reiki even can help clear any emotions or energies your pets may be taking in and absorbing to protect their human companions.
What is Usui Reiki?
In 1922, the Usui form of Reiki was given to the founder, Mikao Usui, after 21 days of fasting and meditation. Sensei Usui subsequently established an institute in Tokyo where he taught classes and gave Reiki treatments. After a devastating earthquake in Kanto, Japan in 1923, Sensei Usui began training others in the practice of Reiki so that more of the sick and injured could be treated. Today, this peaceful healing method is practiced around the world.
What is Holy Fire Reiki?
Holy Fire Reiki is both powerful and gentle and comes from a higher level of consciousness. The word "holy" in Holy Fire Reiki is not intended to have a religious meaning. Rather, it refers to the highly refined spiritual energy which helps the receiver to become "whole" and complete.
Celestial Illumination offers certification workshops in all levels of Usui/Tibetan Reiki. In order to practice Reiki, a student must receive an attunement from a Reiki Master Teacher which aligns the chakras and gives them the ability to direct Reiki energy to themselves and others. You can never lose Reiki once you are attuned!
Holy Fire Reiki:

- Works continuously and spontaneously to help resolve issues as they come up

This new form of Reiki is being introduced by the International Center for Reiki Training. Holy Fire Reiki is a modern evolution of Usui Reiki and fully honors free will while supporting the practitioners of all Reiki lineages. In fact, Holy Fire Reiki does not have a lineage and the Usui/Holy Fire Reiki form will remain with Sensei Usui.
Daniele is a registered Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher through The International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT). She was guided to advance her Reiki training by becoming a Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Master and has found it to be profoundly healing in numerous areas of her life. Many of her clients have also described a gentle, yet deep healing with an ability to quickly clear issues and limiting beliefs that they have held on to for a long time.
Usui/Holy Fire Reiki Certification Workshops
Celestial Illumination offers certification workshops in all levels of Usui/Holy Fire Reiki for adults, as well as classes in Reiki I and II for children. In order to practice Reiki, a student learns the technique through a combination of lecture, discussion and practical experience in the giving and receiving of Reiki. Additionally, the student must receive an energy attunement from a Reiki Master Teacher. This attunement aligns the chakras and gives the student the ability to direct Reiki energy to themselves and others. You can never lose Reiki once you are attuned!
